Job Description for the Linux System Admin -Service Lead/PM Position
Here is the JD for the Service Lead/PM position
Must-have skills:
* RHEL
* Spreadsheet Analysis
* Propose solutions with accuracy
* Data Breakdown Analysis
* Compute Services Team
* Virtualization Background
* Project Management experience within 5 years
* Excellent skills in MS Excel (analysis) and MS PPT (being able to put plans and status together for client and management meetings)
* Great communications skills, ability to work effectively with IT clients (many of which are not versed in server technology)
* Strong history in data center server environments (Unix/Linux and Windows servers)
* Knowledge and experience in virtual infrastructure (VMWare)
* Enterprise level experience
* EMC / NetApp storage environment awareness
* Background in Systems Administration
* Exposure to ITIL framework
* Incident Management/Problem Management utilizing Remedy7
* Change management & Release Coordination
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proven ability to manage competing high priority tasks and the ability to multitask
* Strong team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others
* Independent, Accountable, Sense of urgency, Flexible and adaptable
Plusses:
* VCP3/4
* System Admin Background
* Project Management Experience
* Knowledge and experience in storage is a plus as well.
* Previous experience working with engineers
* Management experience in a data center
* Technical background
* Prior experience in Service Lead or Project Manager role covering one or more of these - Incident/Problem management, Storage Consolidation/Migration, Unix OS Patching/Upgrades, etc.
