Job Description:-
Proactive monitoring and administration: Know-hows to create/modify/manage alerts for new/existing servers with a basic knowledge on the working technology
Hardware and Networking: Knowledge on Server Hardware - Multiple Vendors, Remote Management Tools, Software & Hardware Raid, Clear network fundamentals & topology
Windows Administration: Working knowledge on multiple Windows OS platforms, OS configuration on different roles - Domain, WINS, DNS, DHCP, IIS, WSUS Knowledge of - Disk & Storage, File & Print Server Management, Technical understanding of Raid Configuration, NTFS Permissions, Software, service pack installation, Roles and Feature Wizards etc
Clustering: Theoretical Knowledge of Clusters
VMware : Theoretical Knowledge of VMware
Active Directory: L2 level
Virtualization: Working knowledge on Virtualization, commissioning of new guests, add/remove hardware or increase the disk space etc., different High Availability options available, failover and failback, patching of hosts and guests along with running reports with basic troubleshooting
Backup: Working knowledge on Setup and Configuration of native backups & troubleshooting. Define Policy, Retention. Technical understanding of backup and restore type
Antivirus: Working knowledge of antivirus management tools, Virus definitions/signature update, etc.
Storage: Basic concepts of storage, Basic knowledge of and Fibre storages. Basic knowledge of DAS, NAS and SAN
