Job Description:
• Technical design documentation of new external connectivity requirements.
• Responsible for designing, implementing and testing secure access for outside
business partners into the Wells Fargo network for secured data transport.
• Responsible for staging firewall configuration changes for implementations.
• Responsible for secured delivery of information system connectivity from
Wells Fargo network to external companies and venues.
• Design and implement encrypted firewall connectivity where appropriate
by using IPSEC or other methods of encryption as approved by Wells Fargo corporate security.
• Responsible for providing hardware specifications for new firewall builds and deployments.
• Providing firewall rule testing and troubleshooting with internal banking business units
as well as their external Vendor and business partners.
• Responsible for designing network modifications as needed to include
switch port configuration and limited routing protocol updates.
• Updating of all network design documentation for each project worked, ensuring accuracy.
• Provides updates of each implementation and cause/risk for success or failure.
• Assist other security engineers in design or implementation work as needed.
• May respond to support questions or provide direction/guidance to less experienced staff.
• Provide level 4 firewall support as necessary to assist the Network Operations Center.
Strong grasp of written and oral communication of the English language.
• Intermediate knowledge of firewall types and how they process connectivity.
• Ability to design secure connectivity within a WAN infrastructure.
• Hands-on knowledge of advanced firewall configuration to include IPSEC VPN tunnels,
different NAT configurations and extended rule sets.
• Ability to configure and install Cisco LAN / WAN components.
• Ability to configure and install Frame Relay, Point to Point and MPLS circuits.
• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols to include BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
• Advanced Cisco switching knowledge to include (but not limited to) port configuration,
VTP, port channeling and private VLAN configuration.
• Basic knowledge of QoS.
• Intermediate knowledge of cabling infrastructures.
• Ability to design and implement cable designs within standards as well as testing
and troubleshooting network connectivity.
• Ability to install network and voice connections originating from a centralized device
to all given workstations.
• Moderate knowledge of connectivity from a PBX to a specific workstation
through a cable infrastructure.
• Moderate knowledge of voice circuits and ability to perform troubleshooting diagnostics,
research, evaluation and documentation of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Knowledge of security/audit requirements for ensuring compliance
