This group is part of Service Management Division of Microsoft IT India, and comprises of Service Delivery Engineers responsible for Service Delivery and Engineering function supporting ~2000 servers located across multiple data centers around the world through vendor teams managing Line1 and Line2 support. The team would work closely with regional and Redmond based teams to deliver highest level of customer satisfaction through an exceptional support for the core infrastructure related incidents. This is a fast paced and diverse organization that continually raises the bar and stays on top of the industry trends.
As a Service Delivery Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for leading and owning key components of the Core Infrastructure such as delivery on agreed SLA, OLA, NSAT and work very closely with Problem, Change and Release management functions in the organization. Responsibilities include defining standard processes to operate and optimize the service. Given the criticality of core infrastructure, the candidate must be able to work well in technically demanding and high pressure (though ultimately very rewarding) situations. The candidate should be able to work effectively with various groups which are geographically distributed teams and effectively represent the team to the customers and senior management and stake holders while driving accountability with the vendor for seamless delivery for day to day operations. Additionally, the candidate is required to actively participate in testing and evaluating new products and provide feedback to Microsoft̢۪s Developers to improve the functionality and features of the product.
Requirements:
Constantly challenges team and self for high quality results.
Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of managing customer relationships
Understanding of ITIL and MOF frameworks. Certification in either would be a plus
Drives issues to closure and effectively escalates to obtain the best results.
Passion for driving efficiency and improvements
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Institute and advocate strong operational/support practices and optimize team performance
Ability to adapt to new environments and a quick learning curve.
Ability to drive results through resources spread across global virtual teams.
Good understanding of Microsoft server technologies
Qualifications/ Background:
̢ۢ At least 6 years of experience working on Microsoft technologies with at least 3-4 years in IT Service Delivery.
̢ۢ BE/ BS in computer science or a related technical discipline.
Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4\v6, IPSEC, Core Infrastructure Services (AD, DNS, WINS, DHCP). Scripting (VB, C# or Perl) is a plus
̢ۢ Experience in managing large enterprise Infrastructure.
̢ۢ ITIL Foundation and or MCSE certification desirable.
̢ۢ Should have owned Service Delivery for similar support organizations earlier.
