Server Platform Engineer

We currently have a requirement with our Client. Job Location: Bangalore Please note: looking for candidates who can join in 30 to 45 days Notice period. Role :Server Platform Engineer To work with the team to ensure infrastructure services are available within agreed SLAs. Candidates Profile: Advanced skills/knowledge in: · Knowledge of Active Directory · Windows and Linux server Operating Systems · Midrange Platform architecture, hardware and software · Platform security, Virus Protection & Pattern upgrades, Patch management · Basic failover and DR principles · Virtualised systems (VMware) Strong skills/knowledge in: Knowledge of IS industry and best practices relating to Windows Server NT/ 2000/2003/2008, Red Hat LINUX, and VMware technical environments Software · RedHat LINUX , Veritas Storage, NetBackup · Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) · Microsoft Outlook mail client Hardware · IBM x86 based hardware · Server internal RAID configuration from HP and IBM · IBM, Cisco · IBM tape libraries Roles and Responsiblities: Provide technical expertise for platforms and software utilized: · Investigating and resolving moderate problems across VMware, UNIX and Red hat operating systems. · Administrative activities across VMware, Unix and Red hat operating systems · Collaborate in Designing and developing systems, both technical and process · Contribute technical expertise to both team members and projects on moderate issues · System backup and recovery process and technologies · System provisioning process and technologies · System security process and technologies · System change management process and technologies · System monitoring/escalation/troubleshooting and technologies Willing to work in Shifts: UK /Hongkong / Australia PS: If any of your friends / colleagues you know, matches the description above and is looking for a change, kindly do let me know as references or forward this mail to them.
