Job Title :Senior Systems Specialist (Windows)
Reports to: Head of Infrastructure
Summary:
The Senior Systems Specialist will provide comprehensive maintenance, administration, monitoring and support of all Microsoft based systems especially Active Directory, Messaging and Infrastructure Services based systems. This includes the hardware platforms, operating
Systems, environment configuration, infrastructure and middleware tools, data bases, security and access.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ï€ Ensure proper maintenance, configuration and quality of systems including cluster configuration, messaging flows and controls, directory services and group policies.
ï€ Install and maintain support and diagnostic software tools for key systems including Messaging, Active Directory & Infrastructure Services and Clustering.
ï€ Proficiency and experience in a combination of: Exchange 2007/2010 - Messaging; Business Continuity & Availability; Messaging Consolidation; Secure Messaging; Messaging Archiving; Messaging Shared Services; Mobile Messaging; Office Communications Server; ADSI and Exchange scripting; Windows Active Directory.
ï€ Good understanding of other messaging related technologies like anti-virus, anti-spam, web mail and security policy.
ï€ Responsible for the build and configuration of new servers and that they adhere to company build standards
ï€ Handles the resolution of OS issues, patching, virus updates, design validation, hardware refresh and end-to end troubleshooting
ï€ Good knowledge about EMC Storage Networking (SAN), NAS.
ï€ Monitor and provide pro-active maintenance of overall system performance by way of capacity and availability management, including management reports with monthly and quarterly performance statistics.
ï€ Understand and follow the Incident and Change Management Processes implemented.
ï€ Keep your skills up to date and abreast of new products and technologies in the areas of Windows systems, especially Messaging & Collaboration, Infrastructure & Directory Services, Proxy and Security systems.
ï€ Development of technical standards and solutions. Develop and maintain system documentation.
ï€ Identify all system-related files to ensure full backup and recovery capabilities according to required compliance requirements.
ï€ Identify areas that can be automated (monitoring, failures and identify recovery from failures) to allow lights-out operation.
ï€ Security reviews of server logs for potential issues and breaches and recommendations to address any gaps. System hardening to reduce exposures to known errors, legacy applications and protocols.
ï€ Provides troubleshooting and optimization for technical problems within several infrastructure areas.
ï€ Good Understanding of Migration Capabilities of MS Exchange, Windows to Latest Platforms
ï€ Good Understanding of Knowledge of different Flavors of Virtualization Platforms
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
ï€ A university degree coupled with solid technology experience.
ï€ Candidates for this role should have 5+ years' of relevant experience across multiple technical disciplines, in design, implementation and support streams of the technology.
ï€ Preferably Microsoft Technology Specialist & Cisco Certifications
ï€ Experience with implementing or supporting large-scale IT operations of at least 150 Standalone & Virtualized Servers.
ï€ Broad knowledge of relevant technologies and how they can be applied practically to solve business problems.
ï€ Familiarity with Microsoft"s core products and ISV Best-of-Breed solutions and how they can be leveraged into business solutions.
ï€ Design & Implementation experience with Active Directory and Exchange.
ï€ Support experience with BlueCoat and Websense products, especially proxy and internet filtering.
ï€ Self-motivated, eager to learn and progress career in IT.
ï€ Ability to creatively apply technology and existing solutions to meet business requirements.
ï€ Team player must be able to work with people within and outside of the IT department.
ï€ Customer service focused.
ï€ Strong organizational and analytical and skills.
ï€ Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
Qualification:
- Preferred Bachelor/Diploma in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience is required
REMUNERATIONS (in KWD, where 1 KWD = Rs. 170 approx):
Basic Salary : 800 KWD p.m.
Housing allowance : 250 KWD
Car Subsidy : 100 KWD
Bonus : 15%
Annual Airfare : Self and Family
Health Insurance : Self Only
