Responsibilities
̢ۢ 7 or more years experience of which at least 4 years in storage.
̢ۢ Install and configure storage devices and corresponding software.
̢ۢ Establish appropriate end-user access control levels for stored data.
̢ۢ Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, security, and availability.
̢ۢ Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve issues with storage devices, storage access, and data retrieval.
̢ۢ Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements to the IT storage team.
̢ۢ Perform storage server/database transaction and security audits leading to identification and mitigation of security threats to enterprise data. Recommend and implement changes where necessary.
̢ۢ Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and tasks.
Knowledge & Experience
̢ۢ Good understanding of storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices.
̢ۢ Experience in LUN implementation, configuration and Troubleshooting.
̢ۢ Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting storage servers and management software
• Excellent knowledge of [SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, SCSI, Fibre Channel, tape, clustering, encryption, content-addressable storage…].
̢ۢ Experience with tape/disk drives and other backup (Commvault, Veritas, StorageTek tape libraries) and restore technologies.
̢ۢ Knowledge of change management systems.
̢ۢ Knowledge of applicable data retention practices and laws.
̢ۢ Experience desired in developing and submitting storage audits and compliance reports to governing bodies, legal entities, and/or external authorities.
̢ۢ Project management experience desired.
̢ۢ Good understanding of the organization̢۪s goals and objectives.
̢ۢ Knowledge in Symantec NetBackup/Legato Networker/ArcServe
• Server and Storage Virtualization concepts and products â€"VMware and EMC
