Position Title: Technical Support Engineer Endpoint Encryption - Unix
Job Description:
The primary role of this position is to provide exceptional level I technical support to enterprise and small-medium business customers. Support will be provided by working closely with customers to analyze issues, resolve configuration problems, duplicate product issues and provide workarounds or solutions. The product areas covered will include Symantec (PGP) Universal Server, Desktop clients (including Email and Whole Disk Encryption) , SEE Full Disk, SEE Removable Storage and SEE Device Controle
Duties and Responsibilities:
Take incoming calls from customers and be able to work with them to isolate and resolve their level I technical issues
Troubleshoot environment, configuration and product issues
Gather relevant information about customer environments on level II issues so they can be efficiently redirected
Clearly document troubleshooting steps and resolutions
Filter through incoming ticket queue and prioritize workload effectively
Qualification:
- BE/BCS/MCS/MCM from reputed institutes
- 3+ years experience providing enterprise level support.
- Should have worked on 24x7, voice support.
Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated strong customer service/support skills
Essential Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of Unix, Operating system
- Strong networking skills ( DNS, TCP/IP protocols, Ports information , troubleshooting tools like Netstat )
- Security/Encryption concepts like public/private keys, SSL
- Exchange/ Mail flow / MTA
- Red Hat Linux File system, installation/configuration, basic commands
Highly Desired :
- MCSE, Networking, Security Certifications
- Experience with Security related or encryption products like GurdianEdge, PGP
- Hardware knowledge , Database ( SQL )
- Experience of working in cross platforms server environments; managing large customer environments
Total IT Experience: 3 to 6 years.
