General Responsibilities-
Provide L3 network support to the network infrastructure that includes Routers, Switches, Firewalls and IPS / IDS.
Manage a team of L1/L2 24X7network support.
Maintain 100% uptime of network which is used for mission critical applications
Responsibilities-
a) Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production problems of network infrastructure that includes Routers
b) Switches, Firewalls and IPS / IDS.
c) Troubleshoot Routing and Multicast related issues on the LAN.
d) Handling and Escalating highly impacting operational issues to higher Management and to vendors .
e) Network and structured cabling design and Implementation.
f) Coordination with Vendor / ISP for immediate circuit turn-up.
g) Hardware/sofware upgrades on Routers, Switches, Firewalls and IPS / IDS
Experience/Skills Required-
a) 4 to 6 yrs of experience in networking
b) Minimum 4 years experience in setting up and managing medium to large scale networks.
c) Minimum 2 years of experience in managing security
d) Proficient in Switching/routing, Multicast, multicast routing/switching and Security products such as Firewall & IPS/IDS
e) Knowledge of routing protocols (including multicast) and access lists
f) Sound analytical and troubleshooting skills
g) Good Team Management and co-ordination skills
h) Hands on experience is configuration and Management of Checkpoint and Juniper Firewall with knowledge of Eventia Reporter and NSM
i) Experience with packet level analysis, troubleshooting using packet traces/dumps with hands on experience with tools like tcpdump, ethereal etc.
Preferable/Good to have-
CCSA (Checkpoint Certified security administrator)
ITIL certification
