Job Purpose
1). Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security
2). Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users
3). Installing and testing new versions of the (DBMS)
4). Controlling access permissions and privileges
5). Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans.
6). Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
7). Capacity planning;
8). Working closely with IT Infra and Application Managers, Software Devellopers and Infra Team Engineers.
9). Commissioning and installing new applications and customising existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose. 10). Expertise in administration (installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrade) of large number of IIS based Web servers (versions 5, 6, and 7) with strong troubleshooting skills. 11). Experience in Microsoft .net configuration

Database Migration from SQL 2000 to 2005 and 2008
Design data distribution and archiving solutions
Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions
Knowledge of business functions is also important, as is the ability to communicate with other employees in the company in both technical and non-technical roles.
Design Microsoft SQL Server solutions
Create shell scripts for task automation
Design database security
Restore and recover corrupted databases
Normalize data
Provide 24/7 support for critical situations
Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform
Deploy and monitor database servers
Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
Plan application and data provisioning
Train users and answer questions.
Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database

Good Windows 2003 & 2008 Server skills
